What is prophetic worship?
Levels of participation in corporate worship -
~Listening to the song service.
~Singing a song because that's what we're all doing right now.
~Singing a song because you like the BEAT or STYLE or the ARTIST that sings it
(soulishness)
~Singing a favorite song because it meant something to you before.
~Singing a song with all of your heart and soul and mind and strength
because you want to express praise to God. (obedience)
~Singing something extra or new at the end or in the midst of the songs because you are inspired to. The Spirit of God gives you an "unction" or
extra boost to express a new thought of worship or praise - a new song.
~Singing in a complete flow and being carried along by the Spirit. There
seems to be an ease of worship and inspiration is unending.
You just can't stop and don't want to stop.
The more you worship, the more there is to worship. You "see"
more of Jesus and He reveals himself, His presence is there.
Those who are experienced and comfortable in music can, at this point, express this revelation by the Spirit's leading. Motivated by love alone, one may sing a song of prophecy. Prophecy is information that is inspired, it is revelation.
It may be a scripture that the bearer is driven to sing and express
musically. It may be a phrase that reveals Jesus, God's character never seen
before by the worshipper. It may be a musical version of a truth being
taught in that church.
The journey from merely LISTENING to worship to being INSPIRED in His Spirit's flow of worship begins with steps of obedience in the physical part of ourselves. When we are obedient to make our body sing, clap, dance, move and enter in to what's going on, then we are offering up our sacrifice of praise. The Lord is pleased with this. It is not really worship until there is sacrifice involved.
The more we become used to getting out of our "flesh", getting out of our "soul", then the easier it is to get into the Spirit realm quicker. The "pump" at the well of our "innermost being" does not have to be primed so much. One can get in the flow so easily when you've done it frequently. One learns how to get there and what it is like when you're there.
