PSALM 24

written by David probably for bringing the ark into Jerusalem.

1. A Psalm of David. The earth is the Lords and all it's fullness,
the world and all those who dwell therein
2. For He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters.

3.Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord ? or
who may stand in his holy place ?
4. He who has clean hands and he who has a pure heart
Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol
nor sworn deceitfully.
5. He shall receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from
the God of his salvation.
6. This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your
face. Selah.

7. Lift up your heads oh you gates and
Be lifted up you everlasting doors! And the
The King of glory shall come in.
8. Who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty
The Lord mighty in battle.
This is the king of glory
9. Lift up your heads oh you gates!
Lift up you everlasting doors! And
The King of glory shall come in.
10. Who is this King of Glory?
The lord of hosts,
He is the King of glory

In the first two verses David is claiming the world for the dominion of God and proclaiming it.

Next, in verses 3-6, he writes about going up to Mount Zion. He is going to take a stand by placing the ark of the covenant in a prominent place, as if for all the world to see the sign of God's dominion in the earth. Those who were to carry the ark were to consecrate themselves. After David learned how to transport the ark by God’s plan and not his own, the Levites carried it on their shoulders into the place David prepared for it. He was already acting ahead of his time in explaining how the OT shadows and types were meant for the NT era. The ceremonial cleansing which the Levites went through, translates into this: having clean hands, a pure heart, a pure soul, and a pure mouth.

Then in verses 7-10, he addresses the city gates, “open up, the King of glory is coming in!” It is an order. Let nothing be in the way of God's presence coming into the city and into His rightful place of authority. This was acted out in the carrying of the ark into Jerusalem and up to Mt. Zion. That is the picture of the reality of God coming to earth. God rides upon the four living creatures when He comes to the earth. In heaven He is surrounded by them all the time. They are His worshippers and prophetic voices. They speak, often, for Him, to proclaim to men, what God is going to do, or what God wants men to do.

It is a prophetic declaration for us to agree with now – in our day and in our city.
Let the barriers of the power and authority of the Kingdom of God be opened up, let the KING of GLORY come in!
Let the religious spirits and the jezebel spirits who silence the prophetic voice in our city be annihilated and the KING OF GLORY will come in. These have kept guard at the city gates long enough. OPEN UP!
